Slow Food Genussführer
Good Taste Begins with Origin.
Slow Food advocates for a conscious food culture worldwide: food should taste good, be produced sustainably and traded fairly. The Dining Guide recommends restaurants that uphold regional culinary craftsmanship, seasonal ingredients and the diversity of their region. Volunteer test groups select the establishments.
Karl’s Esszimmer is featured in the 2026 Dining Guide. A recommendation for honest regional cuisine, not a star rating.
The initiative by DEHOGA Baden-Württemberg and its partners makes the origin of food visible. Listed regional dishes are prepared with products verifiably from Baden-Württemberg. The number of lions indicates the extent of the regional offering.
Our house holds the seal with three lions. This highest level signifies a regional proportion of 90 per cent on the menu and additional quality requirements.
GreenSign considers sustainable hotel operations as a whole: energy and water, waste, procurement, regional value creation, as well as social and economic responsibility. Documented evidence and an on-site inspection are part of the certification process.
The Vier Jahreszeiten displays the GreenSign seal Level 4. The designation belongs to the rating version displayed on the hotel seal; it is not a hotel star class.
The Partner Initiative connects businesses committed to preserving the natural and cultural landscape of the Swabian Alb and fostering sustainable regional development. Shared commitments include environmentally responsible operations, regional products, high service quality, and collaboration with local producers.
As a partner, our house is part of this regional network. The partner badge signifies our commitment within the Biosphere Reserve, not as an independent UNESCO certification for the hotel.
The German Hiking Association recognises hosts who cater to the needs of hikers. Among other things, tour advice, regional information, and practical services for a day of hiking are assessed. Quality is regularly verified on-site.
Our house's re-certification was announced by Bad Urach Tourism on 5 May 2026. An excellent starting point for your getaway in the Alb.
TOP 250 Germany presents selected conference hotels in Germany and helps organisers find suitable venues for seminars, conferences and workshops. Membership of the selection and placements in the annual competition are distinct matters.
Our house is a Member 2026/2027. The seal signifies inclusion in the conference hotel selection, not a specific ranking in the competition.
Flair Hotels is a collaboration of individually run, often family-owned establishments spanning generations. At its heart lies personal hospitality, regional cuisine, and a deep connection to the local area. Each hotel retains its own unique character.
We are part of the Flair family and carry the cooperative's own seal 'Outstanding Flair Hotel 2025/2026'. Membership and the Flair seal do not constitute official state hotel classification.
'Part of THE LÄND' is the engagement mark of the State Brand Baden-Württemberg. Companies and organisations use it to demonstrate their connection to the region and make their origin visible.
For us, this is a commitment to Baden-Württemberg. The mark represents a brand partnership, not an independent quality or sustainability seal.
